‘The Hidden Story of a Production: What Goes into a Show at Davidson Community Players and Beyond,’ by Steve Kaliski, Executive Director of DCP, will be the program at the October 15th meeting of the PROBUS Club of Lake Norman
In an interactive speaking session, Steve will provide a short preview of the 2025 season at Davidson Community Players before answering questions about all the processes that go on behind the scenes to bring a show to life. Audiences are used to seeing actors on stage and an abundance of design and backstage credits in the program; what do these people do, and how does this point to theatre being one of the best training grounds for countless collaborative and management professions?
All are welcome to attend this free presentation at the PROBUS Club on October 15th, held at the Berea Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Hwy 150, Mooresville, just west of Perth Road. Coffee and fellowship begin at 10 a.m. The hour-long program will begin at 10:30. You are invited to join members for lunch at a nearby restaurant following the meeting.
The Probus Club of Lake Norman is composed of retired people from the PROfessional and BUSiness sectors who join in a non-political, non-sectarian manner to meet like-minded individuals, keep minds active, make new friends and expand interests. This club meets monthly, and gatherings include a half-hour coffee social, followed by a brief business meeting and a presentation by a guest speaker who will address a topic of mutual interest. Guests are welcome.
