View from the Lake: Laura Rizzetta

As Executive Vice President of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, Laura Rizzetta has plenty of chances to promote lake life on a daily basis – and her first instinct is always to celebrate the beautiful sunsets.

“That’s my favorite thing about the lake,” she says. “I also love the small town feel of downtown Cornelius, and how connected Cornelius, Huntersville, and Davidson have become.”

One of Laura’s Chamber of Commerce duties is developing small business assistance programs, a crucial element in expanding the communities around the lake. She also coordinates education programs, event sponsorships, and marketing activities.

Originally from New Bern, NC, Laura spent 27 years in the banking industry and moved to the Lake Norman area from Columbia, SC, in 2014. She’s the proud mother of three grown children: Drew Nicole who lives in Asheville with her husband and Laura’s two grandchildren, Kate and Henry, a son, Mark, who lives in Columbia, SC, and daughter, Ellie, who lives here in Cornelius. When she’s not talking about the finer points of our area, Laura is a fan of crafting, hiking, reading, and spending relaxing hours at her mountain house – which definitely includes quality time with her two dogs, Lucy and Zoey.
