When Charlotte Parris arrives at her stylish boutique in Mooresville every morning, she knows she will do much more than sell a few items of clothing. She may also lift the spirits of a client with just the right outfit or encourage a first-time customer to think outside the box when putting together a new wardrobe. Charlotte will definitely spend time with friends – and likely make a few new ones!
“I wanted the store to be a real gathering place where people would come and shop, but also stay and sit on the couch and chat for a while,” says Charlotte. There is no question that customers become friends quickly. – and for life.
Opened in 2019, Bliss by the Lake came about its name in the sweetest way. Charlotte and daughter, Anitra, were tossing around potential ideas, and Charlotte says she felt, above all, blessed! She had always loved the word bliss, she says, so it was a natural progression to the perfect business name.
“Our primary goal is for every woman, no matter her age or her size, to feel unique and beautiful when she leaves our store, having been uplifted by her shopping experience!” explains Charlotte. That is a beautiful kind of personal bliss!
While she had always loved fashion, an accounting career kept Charlotte busy in the corporate world for many years. After her husband died, she moved from Charlotte to Davidson to begin her new journey and opened Bliss by the Lake Boutique in Mooresville. Tapping back into her love of fashion has truly helped her find her passion in many ways!
While Bliss by the Lake recently launched a successful online shopping experience – and an App – plus plenty of Facebook and Instagram Live experiences, Charlotte is quick to say that “brick and mortar” is still her heart.
She has an amazing team of style gurus – Ann, Tami, and Sydney, who handle marketing and social media – and they also host monthly ladies’ night events – always inspired by a creative theme!
“There are drinks, snacks, prizes, and lots of socializing and networking – and always plenty of fun!” she says, adding she often invites other local vendors to set up in the boutique on those nights. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for event updates!
Charlotte is proud that what she feels sets her business apart is the mission to turn customers into family. “We truly love our customers – and we hope that shows!” she says happily.
Bliss by the Lake is also proud to be involved in the community as members of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Norman chapter of Women
in Networking (WIN). They often sponsor blood drives and other special events with proceeds going to local charities.
