Fisher Fest 2024: A Weekend of Mountain Biking, Fun, and Frights!

Get ready for an epic weekend of thrills, chills, and two-wheeled adventure as Fisher Fest returns for its 5th year! Presented by the Tarheel Trailblazers, a dedicated 501(c)(3) mountain biking club rooted in the local community, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Hosted by The Cycle Path bike shop in Cornelius, Fisher Fest brings together mountain bikers, outdoor enthusiasts, and thrill-seekers from across the region for a weekend filled with races, rides, live music, and spooky surprises.

Kicking off the festivities on Friday night, the Freaky 5K Run and 1K Walk in the Woods by Start 2 Finish Events invite participants to brave the haunted trails of Fisher Farm Park. Ghostly goblins, eerie ghouls, and surprises around every corner will make this twilight run an unforgettable start to the weekend. Whether you’re running or walking, come prepared for a fright-filled evening with family and friends. Friday night, Limone Pizza food truck will be onsite to fuel runners and spectators alike.

On Saturday, it’s all about the bikes. The day begins with open trail riding at Fisher Farm, Cedar Valley, and the famous Twisted Sister trail. For the competitive riders, the Enduro Race kicks off at 2 p.m., giving participants the chance to tackle the challenging terrain. As dusk approaches, the excitement ramps up with the Jump Jam at 6 p.m., where riders can show off their skills on the step-up jumps in the woods. As the sun sets, bonfires will light up the night, live music will keep the energy high, and the Haunted Trail Ride takes off at 7 p.m., combining the thrill of biking with spooky Halloween vibes. Food trucks K and N BBQ and LKN Mobile Eats will be onsite all day, ensuring everyone stays well-fed throughout the event, and camping is available for those wanting to fully immerse themselves in the weekend’s festivities.

On Sunday, Fisher Fest wraps up with the Queen City Triple Crown Series, Round 2, hosted by Dialed Events. Riders of all skill levels and classes are invited to compete and experience the excitement of this thrilling race series. It’s a perfect way to cap off a weekend of non-stop mountain biking action.

All proceeds from Fisher Fest go toward the Tarheel Trailblazers’ mission to create, maintain, and protect mountain bike trails and parks throughout the Charlotte metro region. Since 1990, the club has developed over 175 miles of sustainable trails and bike parks, enhancing the quality of life for mountain bikers and trail enthusiasts alike. The efforts of this passionate group continue to shape the future of outdoor recreation in our community.
