As a child, I eagerly anticipated our annual visits to the Christmas bazaars at the local churches with my mother. Those cherished memories were soon passed down to my own children, who excitedly planned how they would spend their allowances. It was a time for us to select special gifts for dear friends, explore the handcrafted treasures of local artisans, choose delicious baked goods to savor at home, share a BBQ chicken lunch with friends and neighbors, and bask in the heartwarming aroma of cinnamon, all while being serenaded by the sweet sounds of holiday music. What made it even more special was the knowledge that the proceeds from these events always went to support a deserving charity.
On December 9th, we invite you, your family, and friends to join us at Bethel Presbyterian Church of Cornelius for an old-fashioned Christmas Bazaar. This is an opportunity to relive the joys of Christmases past while supporting the Children’s Hope Alliance, formerly known as Barium Springs Orphanage. Christmas, after all, is a season of giving, a time to celebrate Jesus, who was the greatest gift to the world.
For over a century, Bethel Presbyterian Church has been a steadfast supporter of The Children’s Hope Alliance, even during the challenging days of the Great Depression. Now, we aim to expand our support with the help of our community. We extend an open invitation for you to bring your family and immerse yourselves in the festive atmosphere of our bazaar, savor a delicious lunch, and explore a variety of delightful shopping opportunities.
Among the treasures waiting to be discovered are an array of baked goods, exquisite crafts, fine woodworking, charming pottery, cozy quilts, hand-sewn kitchen crafts, unique personalized gifts, captivating stained glass, beautiful steppingstone art, handmade cards, exquisite jewelry, captivating paintings, and so much more. For lunch, we are delighted to announce that Port-a-Pit Chicken of Statesville will be providing mouthwatering meals for those with pre-sold tickets.
