Knowing the importance of being on time and drama-free when planning travel for business or pleasure, Jordan Goldman found the perfect niche for his genuine people skills and keen attention to detail.
“I moved here to the Lake Norman area five years ago from Long Island, New York, to be closer with family who reside here,” explains Jordan. “Since I wasn’t familiar with the area, I thought the best way to learn about the Charlotte area — and make some money — was to become an Uber/Lyft driver in my spare time.”
Within just a few months he became extremely familiar with the nearby communities, and says he was intrigued by the amount of transplants moving so quickly to the booming area around Lake Norman.
“In the beginning of 2021, once I felt comfortable driving again after the height of the pandemic, I noticed there weren’t many Uber drivers back on the roads,” adds Jordan. “And that’s when it hit me: Why give a large portion of my money to a corporate company when I can keep more of it for myself?”
Jump ahead to the summer of 2021, and that’s when Jordan’s Transportation was officially launched!
“My fiancée, Mary, and I put together a plan to start a business focusing only on local and airport transportation,” he says. “Mary assisted me in getting my LLC, and it was off to the races. We splashed my business cards in every hotel, supermarket, and wherever we felt my contact information could be seen around town!”
Within days, Jordan’s phone wouldn’t stop ringing, and the business grew quickly.
Fast forward to today, and Jordan knows how blessed he is.
“The clientele I have are just the most amazing people, and I’ve been so lucky — to the point I don’t have to do Uber/Lyft anymore, and now I pretty much stick to airport rides.”
While Jordan’s main travel territory is anywhere from Huntersville to Statesville, on the east side of the lake, he will also travel to Sherrills Ford and Troutman, and currently has many customers on the Denver side of the lake as well.
Jordan does believe the key element that sets him apart from other local transportation companies is his excellent customer service.
“I tend to get personal with clients who love to talk,” he says.. “But I also do have respect for the business travelers who are catching up on work while I’m driving. I’m reliable and prompt to my airport pick-ups and drop-offs, which I know is important, and the one thing I can definitely say is that my rates are very reasonable!”
