A true local gem, Latitudes Bar & Grill in Denver, NC, has been a cozy haven for great food and friendship since opening its doors in 2019. Owners Patti and Steve Merkel, along with their son Travis, have seamlessly blended amazing cuisine with community spirit, ensuring every visit feels like a gathering among friends.
With over 30 years of restaurant experience, Patti had a vision for a neighborhood bar and grill with a tropical flair, where the food is fantastic and the service unmatched. Today, Latitudes is a beloved destination for locals to dine, drink, and socialize in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.
The holiday season at Latitudes is a particularly special time, featuring their annual “Miracle on Highway 16” pop-up from November 19th to January 4th. The bar transforms into a festive wonderland, complete with seasonal décor, food, and holiday-themed drinks. Reservations are highly recommended for the Miracle Bar to ensure a spot in this festive celebration. Whether it’s Christmas Trivia, Pajama Night, or the ever-popular Ugly Sweater Night, there’s something fun for everyone! Highlights also include a Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride, a Grinch Night, and for the little ones, a magical Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, November 30th. Kids will also love the Cookie Decorating Fun with the Grinch on December 7th after the Denver Xmas Parade, along with outdoor movie night and hot cocoa by the campfire.
Latitudes gained national fame in 2023 after being featured on the hit show Bar Rescue, where they debuted a special Island Menu filled with unique dishes like the Caribbean Seafood Plate and Jerk Chicken Pot Pie. Signature cocktails such as the tropical-inspired “Risk It for Hibiscus” are perfect to pair with these island flavors.
The regular menu is still a fan favorite, featuring crowd-pleasers like the Blackened Mahi Bites and their famous half-pound burgers, and sushi is available every Friday and Saturday night. In January, monthly wine tastings will return, held on the third Monday of each month.
