Current Owners Don Hartsoe and Scott Davis bought the property and its full contents in 2018, excited to build on the respected reputation of a local business that had operated in the community for close to 30 years. Their team has remodeled and rejuvenated the long-standing business with a slightly new name and a daily goal of offering their expertise to every customer – who, in turn, feels comfortable choosing a fabric to accent an area of their home – maybe exploring a totally new style! Plus, you can’t leave without the finishing touch of one of the store’s amazing candle fragrances.
Scott’s wife, Patti, who previously owned her own home décor shop before this new business venture, keeps things running smoothly, and she’s also been involved in designing pillows since the new store opened. With summer in full swing, clients are always in search of stylish outdoor pillows and new fabrics for their outdoor porches, sunrooms and entertaining areas. Of course that includes Sunbrella outdoor fabric and marine vinyl, with poly and down inserts available for pillows of all sizes – all available at the Lincolnton store.
“We started out making customers’ pillows out of our regular stock fabrics,” shares Patti. “Once Don and I developed sources for higher-end fabrics, I began expanding the offer for designer pillows.”
Year round, Ledford Fabrics is a trusted source for seat bottoms, bench cushions, ottomans and any other home project your inner creative self can imagine.
“We love seeing photos of customer projects!” says Patti. “Seeing them excited about their furniture that’s in need of restoration and reupholstering is amazing.” Beyond furniture, Patti shares that several customers buy fabric to design gorgeous handbags, while others purchase hair-on-hide leather to use as rugs.
A team of 10 part time employees – the friendliest around – are skilled at helping customers select colors for draperies, upholstery and pillows, and the store is always well stocked with a wide choice of colors, textures and designs at very appealing prices. Once you’ve chosen the perfect fabric, they are happy to recommend an excellent local vendor to complete your reupholstery project.
Ledford Fabrics also offers a fashionable variety of home accessories, including lamps and artwork, fabulous candles, seasonal wreaths and custom made designer pillows – always ideal as gifts. At times, you might find a unique piece of furniture or an upholstered headboard, and you’ll always leave with a new décor inspiration.
While you’re browsing the store, be sure to greet and say hello to seamstress Ruth Wright, who also worked with the previous owners. At the age of 81, Ruth is still all smiles when she sees a customer happily purchasing pillows she has sewn – and customers adore meeting her and putting a face with the talented seamstress who made their new purchase!
