April and Walter have been a part of the Denver community for well over 30 years. Walter grew up in western Lincoln County, and after marrying April they raised their three daughters, Alexandria, Amber, and Kennedy, here in Denver. Many locals know them as the “Case girls.” They occasionally help their parents at the garden center, so it is truly a family-oriented business!
One of the most frequently asked questions is “when is a good time to plant?” April and Walter both say, “ideally fall and spring are the best times to plant, however you can plant anytime of the year if you’re willing to put in a little extra work. Plants are a living, breathing thing and need the special care that is required the first year for them to thrive. After that, just a little fertilizer and regular maintenance should satisfy the plants’ needs.”
April runs the daily store front and takes a lot of pride in making you feel welcome. She can help you design perennial gardens for butterflies and pollinators, jaw dropping planters, amazing flower beds; and even paints some of the art displayed inside the store. After walking through their flowers and plants outside, come in and enjoy a good conversation with April. Don’t forget to look around the gift shop where you might find a unique house plant or two.
Walter handles the larger more elaborate landscaping projects. He can design a landscape drawing for you to follow, or a turnkey project where he designs and installs your vision. Walter has been in the landscaping business for over 30 years, so he is very knowledgeable about every facet of the process. He can guide you to the right plants for your home, whether it is a fully shaded area or a typical hot southern lawn.
