All event spaces are fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio/visual computer systems, and Fine Occasions, their in-house event planner, will work to plan and execute a customized experience just for you.

Golfing As It Should Be
When savvy businessman Don Beaver acquired Rock Barn Country Club & Spa in 1997, he was poised to create a premier golfing community and resort style destination, with two championship courses and the absolute finest amenities. In 2003, Rock Barn hosted its first Senior PGA Tournament, which became a tradition for the next 13 years, an impressive outing for the city of Conover with only around 7,000 residents at the time.
Today, the Tom Jackson Course is Rock Barn’s public course, appealing to golfers of all levels and handicaps, boasting a course that provides interesting challenges with each round. The public is welcome to play on the award-winning Jackson Course – an annual recipient of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play” distinction – and browse at the golf shop or dine at the Fresh Chef Café.
The club’s private Robert Trent Jones Course is the more challenging of the two courses, offering a layout that takes full advantage of the local terrain. In 2023, the North Carolina Golf Panel ranked the Jones Course the 25th best course to play in the state and the 5th best course in the western region. Golf facilities and courses at Rock Barn are open six days a week, and the mild North Carolina winters often allow the blessing of year round play!
The Spa at Rock Barn
Alongside hosting its first Senior PGA Tournament, Don also proposed the idea of adding a wellness spa to the Rock Barn community in 2003; a vision he shared with his wife, Vickie, who fell in love with the idea. “We visited other spas all over the country and picked up details that we liked – with a dream to make ours into a premier facility,” shares Vickie, also a talented artist. She credits her husband with the initial spa vision – noting that his concepts are “always ahead of the times” – but acknowledges its ongoing success belongs to the incredible staff and their dedication to the finest hospitality.
Flame Deal, Spa Operations Director, and her team have created a true oasis of relaxation and rejuvenation at The Spa at Rock Barn that leaves you feeling pampered and appreciated! The newly renovated 21,000-square-foot European Day Spa – open to the public – couldn’t be more perfect for a girls’ weekend away, a birthday surprise for Mom, bachelorette or bridal party, or your next corporate event. Relax on the spacious Hydrotherapy Circuit deck with a salt water pool that includes underwater music, two therapeutic mineral waterfalls, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, saunas and essential oil-infused steam rooms, health and beauty treatments, nail salon and poolside dining. Depending on your definition of relaxation, you’ll find the spa a bit more high energy on the weekends, with a slightly more mellow mood mid week, so plan your getaway accordingly! The finishing touch for your getaway is onsite lodging available in a four-bedroom townhome that accommodates eight to 10 guests and includes select member amenities.
One of many options, the popular Summer Weekday Escape package includes one of the spa’s two most popular services – a massage or facial, 45-minute Himalayan Salt Cave experience, all day access to the Hydrotherapy Circuit, a spa lunch with two beverages, plus chocolate covered strawberries made in house. Notable spa trivia: One of the spa’s first guests was celebrity golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez, who enjoyed a Hot Stone Massage treatment before playing in the 2003 Greater Hickory Classic Pro-Am!
Rock Barn also provides an array of athletic activities directed by a team of PGA golf professionals and USPTA tennis professionals, plus complimentary yoga and fitness classes with state-of-the-art equipment.
