The Bungalow Market – Inspired Holiday Shopping in Downtown Davidson

The globally inspired goodness and artful mix of vintage and modern décor you find at The Bungalow Market in downtown Davidson year round is even more irresistible during the holiday season!

For your toughest gift-giving challenges, home entertaining and everything in between, Owner Greta McCoy keeps her ever-changing inventory fun, fresh and fashionable – and now a local holiday tradition!

Start by marking your calendar for the magical three-day Christmas in Davidson event December 5th, 6th and 7th, when The Bungalow Market will be open until 9:00 p.m. each night.

“It’s a really fun event with live entertainment, food and vendors all around, and Main Street is shut down for pedestrians,” shares Greta. “Plus, we’ll be serving chocolate popcorn to customers!”

The Bungalow Market always loves focusing on unique gift options from small-batch makers – and more than ever during the biggest season of giving.

“We strive to find unique items that other stores don’t carry, from handwoven kitchen trivets and wall and décor baskets, to handwoven earrings made in Rwanda (all Fair Trade – where the men and women making these beautiful pieces are paid what they should be paid to feed their families),” Greta explains.

She’s excited to share some especially unique gift ideas you’ll find in the store this season!

  • Watercolor workbooks made in Gig Harbor, Washington, that include 12 illustrations with an example of the finished painting, step-by-step instructions and a lightly illustrated sketch to paint. Think coloring books, but with watercolor!
  • Gemstone double-wrap bracelets and Seed Bead hoop earrings from a jewelry designer out of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, who joyfully plants a tree with each piece she sells from her collection.
  • Oven mitts, cosmetic bags, mugs and cocktail glasses with artistic screen-print designs by a husband and wife duo from Denver, CO – a line the store has been carrying for five years!
  • Glass, wood and bone bead earrings, bracelets and necklaces from a Pennsylvania-based jewelry designer – who frequently releases new designs you’ll see in the store.
  • Handmade Oyster Shell Wine Stoppers! Each shell from Williamston, NC is hand-painted, and no two are the same!

  • From Aged & Infused, a Chicago-based husband and wife duo, look for all-natural alcohol infusion kits for your home bar. These kits transform everyday cocktails into cozy, hand-crafted goodness with seasonal ingredients like apples, ginger, cranberries, cloves and zero added sugar!
  • Best-selling cloth napkins, hand made by a seamstress in coastal Georgia, show us that the small change of choosing cloth napkins over paper makes a difference! Her vibrant fabrics and elite sewing skills make these napkins a no-brainer in the gift giving category.

  • You already know and love the natural olive wood kitchen products The Bungalow Market has carried for years, from a family owned business that hand crafts kitchenware from non-productive olive trees. Born and raised in Sfax, Tunisia, brothers Hatem and Walid Alimi learned the art of carving the trunks of olive trees as children. Today, the Alimi brothers produce naturally beautiful kitchen utensils, cutting boards and bar accessories, all boasting the distinct swirling patterns of the trees’ twisted trunks.

“Speaking of entertaining, we’ve also brought in a new line of food-safe ceramics this year that has been well-received by our customers,” shares Greta. “The beautiful Azul serving bowls and platters bring an artisan look to your table with a beautiful blue reactive glaze finish. They have been really popular this year, so I’m betting they will also be favorite serving items this holiday season!”

And, while you’re holiday gift shopping, always remember to treat yourself!
