The Perfect Dress – Celebrating as Prom Season Begins!

What could otherwise be a drab, boring month, January seems to come alive with promise once girls begin envisioning prom night – and the dream dress that will mark their high school milestone event!

At The Perfect Dress in Mooresville, Owner Dina Haugstatter has a personal mission to make sure that shopping for your prom gown is the enjoyable experience it’s meant to be, offering personal attention to every girl who trusts her boutique with this important moment! When she and her daughter, Brooke, opened The Perfect Dress in 2021, their own stressful shopping memories were fresh on their mind – along with a vision of offering their clients in the Lake Norman area an entirely different experience.

“We want every girl who shops with us to feel beautiful and comfortable, no matter their shape or dress size,” shares Dina.

This season, there’s something new, as The Perfect Dress is especially thrilled to offer their own exclusive new line of prom dresses, and Dina can’t wait to greet you with some amazing new options!

“We wanted to take a few of our bestselling designs and make some modifications to improve the overall look,” says Dina. “By creating our own line, we are able to help keep the costs down for our customers, while giving them something that no other store anywhere will have.”

Her first – and most important – words of wisdom: shop early, for two major reasons! You’ll get the best selection to choose from, plus you can have “first dibs” on the dress you love for your individual high school. The boutique maintains a record of all dresses bought during prom season and will only sell that one style once per school, so no two girls have the same dress. (Note: They may sell the same dress in a different color, but never two of the same shade.)

From what Dina has been fortunate to see so far, the 2025 prom season will be one to remember!

“For the trendiest styles on prom night, you can expect to see a dazzling array that combines elegance with a modern flair,” she shares. “You’ll notice metallic and pleated fabrics, intricate beadwork on fitted bodices, statement-making corset tops, floral patterns, backless designs and, of course, strapless designs. Satin continues to be one of the biggest hits for prom season as it drapes perfectly against the body curves, making your every move even more graceful.”

Dina also suggests that if you want to combine elegance and playfulness with a touch of vintage charm, opt for a bow-style gown. And, as always, ruffles will continue to create a fun, flirty and playful look.

Be sure to add Saturday, January 11th and Sunday, January 12th to your calendar when The Perfect Dress will host their Prom 2025 Kick-Off & 5th Year Anniversary celebration!

“The first 50 girls to purchase will get to spin our prize wheel for a chance to win several different prizes,” says Dina. “There will be refreshments as well as models showcasing all the new styles!”

For spring and summer weddings already on the calendar, The Perfect Dress also delights in dressing mothers of both the bride and groom in gorgeous gowns. This year’s trends for mothers appear to be blending timeless elegance with modern flair. That means bold colors, intricate necklines and both shimmering and metallic fabrics, but the biggest trend for moms seems to be pretty florals!

“We suggest our mothers give themselves six months lead time to order their dress,” says Dina. “This allows for more options to be available, and most dresses can be special-ordered to a particular size and color. The key is having enough time for expert alterations.”

There’s much to look forward to as prom season will arrive in a flash with plenty of reasons to celebrate in stunning style!
