If you’re lucky enough to know Kelly Avery, you know she’s all about the love.
Whether you’re her friend, family member, or cherished customer, that faith-based positivity is what keeps her going on busy days as an entrepreneur!
As owner of The Pink Boutique in Mooresville – which also happens to feature the largest ladies’ mobile boutique in the area! – Kelly’s love for people makes a visit to the warehouse a definite bright spot in anyone’s day. Her customers are never just customers – they become part of her family!
“If I can help somebody find a new look that makes them feel special, or a piece of clothing that makes them feel beautiful, then I love it!” she says, reflecting a major part of her overall business philosophy: Empowering women with fashionable, yet affordable choices.
“And yes, it’s possible to spend a reasonable amount on fashion, and still look and feel beautiful!” she shares.
You’ll also find Kelly’s favorite quote prominent in the business: “She is clothed with strength and dignity” (Proverbs 31:25), and not one person leaves the boutique without knowing just how much Kelly appreciates them. She credits her strong work ethic to both her parents, who were an amazing business duo themselves, owning a racetrack in New Hampshire for over 30 years.
“They both taught me to work hard, be kind, be thrifty, and appreciate people,” Kelly says. “I work hard every day to make them proud. Since my mom passed, I lean on my dad for support, and we talk about the business every single day! He gives the best advice, and we always end up with “what would Mom say?” at the end of our conversations. He always reminds me to make people smile!”
When Kelly moved here from New Hampshire for a more corporate career, she realized she needed flexibility to spend time with her daughters, now 13 and 15. There’s never a dull moment with The Pink Boutique or the beloved Pink Truck – a community favorite, but she’s found the perfect niche.
The 40-foot truck, designed as an actual boutique with a large dressing room, two mirrors, even heat and AC, travels through the Carolinas, Virginia, and Tennessee, offering fun, stylish clothing in sizes small to 3XL. From tops, bottoms, dresses, and jumpsuits, to outerwear, lounge wear, camis, curvy styles, shoes, and accessories, there’s truly something for every shopper.
“We travel around the Lake Norman area showcasing and selling our products, and we also offer private parties and fundraisers at schools, sporting events, festivals, and more!” explains Kelly. She always embraces the opportunity to give back, and partners with many nonprofits and businesses to provide visits from that hard-to-miss Pink Truck! Give Kelly a call if you’d like to host the Pink Truck at your home, workplace, or special event.
Kelly and her trusted helpers are busier than ever this time of year, with their “12 Days of Christmas” promotion, plus an in-store holiday event planned for December 10. Watch their website, Facebook, and Instagram pages for updates on holiday happenings including plenty of Facebook Live Sales. It’s a full life, and Kelly is thankful for the unique opportunity to remind women of their true beauty, and lift the spirits of everyone she meets!
“I do this for the love,” she says. There’s no better success than that!
