As I sit down to write this Publisher’s Perspective, I find myself reflecting on a significant milestone in my life. In May of 1984, my husband and I got married! Fast forward 40 years, and here we are, living our best life and feeling blessed through the journey and all we have learned along the way.
With summer on the horizon, we can hardly wait for days filled with boating adventures, jet ski rides, paddle boarding, long walks, and simply being happy, healthy and enjoying the sunshine. What brings us the greatest joy is having more time with our children, their significant others, and grand pups for visits, complete with cookouts and lots of time spent out on the water. I’m especially grateful for Tanner’s passion for grilling, it’s always a special treat!
In the pages of this issue, you’ll find a ton of engaging, local content! We’re thrilled to showcase Arden 55+ in Huntersville, a haven of comfort and community for your loved ones. Turn to page 28 to learn more about this beautiful community!
If you haven’t yet discovered The Emerald Necklace, allow me to extend a personal invitation. Turn to page 36 it’s a must-add to your summer to-do list!

Mental health awareness is a cause close to our hearts, as each of us has been touched by its challenges in some form. It’s a reminder of the importance of education and support in navigating these struggles, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the Mental Health Association and the generous table sponsors for their unwavering commitment to aiding those in need. We pray that this organization will break all kinds of records this year and can make an impact on the mental health crisis in our community and beyond.
Before I sign off, I want to take a moment to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to my sweet mama, a beacon of love, compassion, and strength in our lives. Through her unwavering devotion to her roles as LKN Ambassador, Deacon of her church, and the best mama and Mamaw! She fills our hearts with boundless love and admiration.
Wishing you a May full of days filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments with those who matter most. Here’s to an amazing summer ahead!
