The Publisher’s Perspective

Love me some November, and this month brings both joy and a touch of sadness as our dear friends and next-door neighbors embark on a grand adventure down under. For the next two years, Australia will be their new home. We’ll miss them dearly, but what an incredible opportunity for their family, especially with two adventurous boys aged 5 and 8. We wish them all the best in this exciting journey!

We are absolutely delighted to have the honor of hosting Thanksgiving this year, uniting many of our family members under one roof for this cherished occasion. Thanksgiving holds a special place in our hearts, especially for my mom and stepdad, as there’s nothing they treasure more than being surrounded by their children and grandchildren. Their excitement knows no bounds, and I consider myself truly fortunate that they are here living close by at Lake Norman. While we enjoyed our time visiting the beach, having them close and being able to see them regularly is a blessing we don’t take for granted. As we gear up for the holiday season, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all of you for a Thanksgiving filled with joy and lasting memories!

In the spirit of community and collaboration, we’re excited to feature Summit Place of Mooresville this month. They’ve been a long-time partner with LKN Magazine, known for their sweet residents and amazing staff. We’re proud to showcase their contributions to our local community.”

Hello! My name is Keela Johnson and I’m the founder of Forsyth Magazines, a family of three publications based in Forsyth County that started in 2005. After living in Clemmons for 30 years, I “retired” to Lake Norman and found a vibrant, active community of friendly people, as well as new hobbies like paddle boarding and gardening. I’ve been considering the right time to launch a Lake Norman-based magazine, and I firmly believe that time is now! With 19 years of publishing experience, our team has helped hundreds of businesses share their stories and connect with our 70,000 readers. We believe in the power of community and building a platform for local businesses to grow in an organic and powerful way. We’re so excited to bring this same concept to the Lake Norman market.
