As you are seeking educational options for strengthening both your child’s future and their faith, get to know Trinity Christian Academy which will begin serving the Mooresville community in the fall of 2026.
“We are passionately committed to our mission – to equip students to know Christ and make Him known through Christian education,” shares Head of School Rick Calloway. Recently retired after 28 years as Head of School for a large Christian school in Charlotte, Rick was hired to lead the effort to open Trinity Christian Academy. “Rooted in Luke 2:52, we pursue the holistic growth of our students – spiritually, intellectually, physically and relationally – just as Christ grew in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man,” he adds.
As a school family, Trinity Christian Academy will be academically strong – with a heart for Jesus – and rooted in God’s love that you’ll find evident in every staff and faculty member.
The dream of Trinity Christian Academy first emerged through the passion and belief in Christian education that Pastor Mark Harris of Trinity Baptist Church had for the town of Mooresville. Pastor Harris understood the value of Christian education and the potential impact for good in the lives of students and families around the area. After praying for some time for God to provide the right opportunity to open a Christian school, that door opened in the spring of 2025.
“The historic Mt. Mourne School became available, and as only God can orchestrate, the vision of Trinity Christian Academy began to become a reality,” shares Rick. “A board was quickly formed to work towards the school opening in August of 2026, and I was hired to help lead the effort.”
Plans include the school opening initially for kindergarten through 5th grade students – adding a grade or two each year – with the goal of becoming a full K-12 school serving the Mooresville area.
What will set Trinity Christian Academy apart from other educational options in the area?

“TCA will be an academically excellent Christian school that’s biblically distinctive, with a culture focused on showing the love of Christ to students and families daily,” Rick explains. “Our culture will be focused on the truth of God’s Word, where our true heart is for students to own their faith, weaving a biblical worldview into their lives.”
The school’s overall mission is to provide the most creative, inspirational and challenging classrooms – while employing teachers who excel in their craft and are devoted to their faith. Trinity Christian Academy will offer a complete student life including athletics and the arts, as well as a place for families to belong – joining together to build faith-based foundations.
“It’s also our dream for TCA to become a big part of the Mooresville community, involving students in serving others and seeing how the value of living a purpose bigger than themselves is a vital part of their education,” Rick adds. “We’re convinced that training this generation with a biblical worldview and preparing them with a top-quality education will have a generational impact on the community of Mooresville and beyond.”
