The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) unites the neighbors of the Peninsula Community of Cornelius, NC, to empower the work of nonprofit organizations. Founded in 2001, PCF is an all-volunteer organization that has contributed over $2,000,000 to local charities making an enormous impact on the communities of North Mecklenburg County. PCF increases awareness of significant needs in the local community and then brings the people, capital and ideas together to address the unmet needs of the young, poor, distressed, elderly, and handicapped in the community. Recently, PCF held their gala, celebrating their 20th Anniversary.

“Our gala was held on November 19, 2022 at The Peninsula Club, with a theme of emerald green, the traditional 20th anniversary gift, with attendees encouraged to wear the color of the event. The sold-out gala was a great fundraiser with a featured tequila and bourbon tasting, Golden Ticket raffle, live auction, silent auction, and games. A delicious sit down dinner was served by the Peninsula Club team before the Golden Ticket winner was drawn. This was followed by a very lively live auction and donation appeal facilitated by the exuberant auctioneers, Austin Helms and Jason West. The evening continued with dancing to the popular band, Brightside,” said Pamela Varghese, PCF Gala Chairperson.

The money raised during the gala will be distributed to local charities that best address the unmet needs of the young, poor, distressed, elderly, and/or handicapped in the Cornelius, NC community.

“The PCF is committed to helping local nonprofit organizations develop and expand not only through direct financial contribution, but with their entire mission. Our recipient organizations also benefit from the direct involvement of PCF Board Members, neighbors, and volunteers in the Peninsula and Cornelius community. We believe we are stronger together as we help local nonprofits provide a better life to those in need in the Lake Norman area,” Pamela commented.
