Blu Star Grill – Exploring a Delicious New Menu

One of Mooresville’s most popular gathering spots, Blu Star Grill is known for the freshness of every dish they serve. Priority number one here is sharing healthy, natural food with their guests – never referred to as customers, always as guests! 

Owner Nelson Bass and his team also deliver superb hospitality, and you’ll always feel like family – which is why, when it came time to refresh the menu a bit, they turned to their guests, listened to their comments and updated the Blu Star menu to reflect what those loyal guests wanted most!

“We now offer our full menu all day long – from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday,” Nelson explains. “This means we have increased our plated meals to 13-plus choices – available all day!”

In updating the menu, the talented Blu Star team kept many of their fan favorites, while adding some exciting new options. There’s a philosophy that Nelson shares, and you’ll find their entire staff in agreement: “We care about every meal being a great meal!”

“Our most popular new offerings are Carolina crab cakes (lump crab cake with ancho creamed corn and sautéed green beans), scallops & shrimp pasta (Outer Banks scallops and wild-caught shrimp in a roasted red pepper sauce with baby spinach, broccoli florets and linguine) and coconut lime mahi (wild-caught mahi glazed with a coconut lime sauce served with truffled basmati rice and a vegetable medley), and know that all of our seafood is wild caught,” adds Nelson. “We’ve also added a 10-oz ribeye steak, perfect with one of our delicious fresh, made-to-order salads and more than 10 sandwiches listed under our “handheld” options. Chef Fredi is also making fresh desserts in house, like cherry cheesecake, gluten-free key lime pie and crème brûlée, to name a few.”

You’ll also find more wine choices – at the request of loyal guests – including “wine by the bottle” – plus, a new house sangria.

“Of course, we still have our ‘build your own’ menu section where you can craft your own masterpiece of black Angus or elk burgers!” Nelson adds. 

For the record, those are truly epic, hand-pattied burgers made from grass-fed and grass-finished black Angus beef raised on small family ranches in Colorado. If you’re exploring the elk burger, that elk meat is from Canada!
