If a friend or neighbor suggests you pay a visit to CLC Deals in Denver, NC, don’t ask too many questions, but be thankful and follow their advice. Just go!
Remarkable community support and enthusiastic word-of-mouth marketing has made this locally owned and operated spot a shopping experience, in its own unique way.
“Our business started in 2015. with something entirely different than CLC Deals, more along the lines of product development,” says one of the owners, Brian Conkey. “By 2018, we were still facing challenges getting our business going, and we were making sacrifices. We began talking about ways to add to what we were doing. From that, came the idea of offering our excess inventory for sale to the community – at great prices, of course. Customers could get the great deals they loved, and the retail sales would help with our survival as a small business.”
Gerry Papiernik and the rest of the amazing team began to search for other products their customers were asking for – and the rest is shopping history.
“In a short period of time, we were buying overstock inventory from a wide variety of suppliers,” explains Max Gallagher, another owner. “The store continued to grow as more and more people heard about the values they could find right here at CLC Deals.”
Gerry also adds they are constantly trying to improve product offerings to keep customers happy and coming back.
“We appreciate every customer and have introduced a free loyalty program as one of many ways to say thank-you for shopping at CLC Deals. Customers get back a small portion of each of their purchases that they can spend on future visits to the store.”
It would be nearly impossible to describe exactly what CLC Deals carries because inventory is ever-changing, and the possibilities are endless. But the tempting list would certainly include home goods (lamps, rugs, lighting, and accessories), clothing at amazing prices, toys, bath towels, linens and bedding, pet supplies, select gourmet food items, and holiday décor!
“The holidays are always a favorite time at our store,” says team member, John Dale. “With lots of holiday items and special events, we try to share our enjoyment of the season with our customers. Last year Santa and Mrs. Claus joined us for our Christmas event, and we are expecting Santa will be back again each year!”
He adds that along with holiday accessories and decorations for your home, they are also excited about carrying Amish made pie filling again this year!
“We will be carrying peach, apple, and cherry. Made in small batches, it is one of our holiday favorites!”
What sets CLC Deals apart – besides those incredible deals! – is how much fun the staff has actually doing their job.
“We have a lot of fun doing what we are doing,” says Nick Bailey. “And we try to share that enthusiasm with our customers, while assuring they continue to get the best values around.”
