From the Racetrack to the Runway: Jacklyn Drake’s Journey to the Miss North Carolina for America Pageant

In the world of motorsports, Jacklyn Drake is a familiar name – a seasoned professional known for her expertise as an on-air pit reporter, media strategist and beloved personality in NASCAR. However, this year, Jacklyn is gearing up for a new kind of competition – one that will take her from the racetrack to the runway as she enters the Miss North Carolina for America pageant this May.

Born and raised in the small town of Maypearl, Texas, Jacklyn’s love for racing was ignited at a young age. With a natural talent behind the wheel, she spent her childhood competing in race cars all over the country, amassing more than 200 race wins and three championships before she even reached adulthood. After graduating college, Jacklyn relocated to Mooresville, North Carolina in 2013 – a hotbed for motorsports – where she embarked on a career in NASCAR that spans more than a decade.

Now, as she prepares to step into the spotlight of the Miss North Carolina for America pageant, Jacklyn is embracing a new challenge with the same determination and passion that have defined her racing career all these years. For Jacklyn, the pageant represents more than just a stage – it’s an opportunity to inspire and advocate to others to always pursue their dreams. 

Representing the area as Miss Lake Norman 2024, Jacklyn embodies a profound connection to her community, carrying with her a steadfast dedication to upholding its values and spirit. “The pageant offers a large platform to spread awareness and help others, which has always been a main focus for me,” remarked Jacklyn when reflecting on her mission. 

From an early age of six, Jacklyn has embraced women’s empowerment, fueled by her firsthand experiences as a female race car driver in a male-dominated sport. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to inspiring and championing women in all sports, with her most recent endeavor in March hosting an international conference aimed at fulfilling that very goal.

In addition to her advocacy work, Jacklyn is deeply committed to philanthropy. Whether it’s supporting the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or volunteering in her community to address food scarcity, she eagerly lends her voice and resources to make a difference. Furthermore, she is laying the groundwork for her own foundation dedicated to enhancing children’s reading abilities.

From the racetrack to the runway, Jacklyn Drake’s journey to the Miss North Carolina for America pageant is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance and the pursuit of one’s dreams. 

The Miss North Carolina for America pageant will take place May 4-5, 2024 at James W. Warren Citizens Center in Lincolnton, NC at 6:00 p.m., additionally Mrs. North Carolina for America, Mrs. South Carolina for America and Miss South Carolina for America will all be crowned.
