G4G Ministries: Serving Neighbors in Need-Love One Another As I Have Loved You – John 15:12

In 2008, a few employees from Holland Transfer Company in Statesville, NC, borrowed a grill, visited a local men’s shelter to cook a meal and enjoyed fellowship next to some of their neighbors in need. Given the heartfelt response of those they served – and their gratefulness at being acknowledged – these volunteers knew they had found their true calling.

By 2009, G4G Ministries (“Grill 4 God”) was able to purchase a van and a professional pull-behind grill. Since that simple beginning, the faith-based 501(c)(3) organization has provided more than 100,000 meals in the Statesville area! Now with a steady following of volunteers, the group is steadfast in their commitment to glorifying God by serving and ministering to those in need, both physically and spiritually. The Mobile Grilling and Ministry Impact Team partners with other agencies throughout North Carolina to provide a hot meal, prayer time and the opportunity for the community to connect with ministries who work diligently – right in their own backyard.

“Partnering with G4G is an excellent opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself,” explains Executive Director Brad Bullock, Jr. “Together, we can make a difference, by helping our neighbors see that they are loved and can have a relationship with God, to provide hope in what they might perceive as a hopeless situation.”

Every free meal served includes the ministry’s “secret recipe” grilled chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Volunteers are always needed to assist with meals by prepping chicken, grilling, serving, praying and cleaning up after the meal; and the team hopes you will spread the word about G4G Ministries throughout the community by sharing this vital mission with your own church group, civic organization, small group or business. Besides financial gifts to keep the growing ministry strong, G4G is always in need of basic supplies such as paper towels, cooking spray, grill lighters, disposable latex or nitrile gloves (sizes XL and XXL), fresh or frozen whole chickens, Bush’s Original Baked Beans and Clorox wipes.

“Without the support of sponsors, donors and dedicated volunteers, helping our neighbors in need of nourishment would not be possible,” adds Brad. “These neighbors – our brothers and sisters in Christ – may not walk into your church on Sunday morning, but they will certainly meet you under a tent for food and fellowship, love and prayer.”

In addition to serving meals locally, G4G Ministries also hosts an annual Golf Tournament in the Statesville area, with proceeds benefiting their continued mission to care for neighbors who may feel they have been forgotten.

“Please see the website for a list of our growing partnerships,” adds Brad. “We are always looking for partners with a passion to feed and serve those suffering from food scarcity, poverty, violence, addiction and homelessness.”For more information on G4G Ministries and how you can become involved, visit G4GMinistries.com, email [email protected] or call 704.380.3708, and follow them on Facebook @G4GMinistries.
