As Hampton’s prepares to launch its 10th year in business, the family owned and operated mainstay of men’s clothing is also excitedly embarking on new territory — the vibrant village of Main Street in Mooresville, to be exact.
“We’re excited for the relocation and look forward to joining the community of patrons and fellow businesses in downtown Mooresville!” says owner Tyler Hampton.
In 2014, the first version of Hampton’s opened right on Main Street in their hometown of Davidson, NC, and was owned by Tyler’s grandfather. In 2016, Tyler and his mom, Jan, realized a need for more space and a broader clientele, and they acknowledged a good quality men’s clothing store just didn’t exist between Charlotte and Winston-Salem, and definitely not in the Lake Norman area! So, Hampton’s made the move to join the Langtree Lake Norman shopping and dining village. Their passion kept them inspired, however, and with this recent move, they are returning to their “Main Street roots” — this time in Mooresville.
“I’ve designed a men’s clothing store where I would want to shop personally,” explains Tyler. “This new space downtown had actually been an apartment, complete with two floors. The upstairs will now be a custom clothing “suite” — really a large showroom of our custom clothing options — and will even include a stocked bar, for the entire experience!”
Downstairs will be upscale shopping at its finest, filled with the quality clothing and accessories Hampton’s is known for, including shoes, belts, neckwear, jewelry, dress shirts to polo shirts, casual yet stylish outerwear, and of course, classic suits and sport coats. Their selection includes the latest offerings from vendors around the world, and for a few of those elite lines, Hampton’s is their exclusive retailer in the United States.
“We really consider Hampton’s a destination shopping experience,” adds Tyler. “I believe what sets us apart is our distinguished level of product, presented with our extensive knowledge and passion for what we do. Many of our lines may be ones you’re not familiar with, but you’ll soon be sold on their quality and impeccable styling.”
Tyler also enjoys working and collaborating with other vendors who are family-owned — and is often now working with the second or third generation of a business. “We understand each other, and appreciate those family ties,” he adds. A very hands-on business owner, Tyler also personally selects which clothing lines become part of the Hampton’s shopping experience, as continuing to build that reputation behind the store name is still very much his passion!
While Hampton’s is grateful for its loyal customer base — which also crosses over generations — Tyler is also pleased to be in a new location where foot traffic will expand the store’s client base even more, and widen their already stylish audience.
Whether you’re in the market for sophisticated casual attire for your unique everyday lifestyle, or a distinguished, one-of-a-kind suit for a special occasion, the experts at Hampton’s can assist you with custom attire from tailoring houses throughout the U.S., Europe, and Canada.
