What is the Tour de Boutique?
The team at Forsyth Magazines knows a thing or two about shopping, and more specifically, shopping trips. Since 2010, we’ve hosted over 15 shopping events! We love turning a regular Saturday into an extraordinary Saturday with a non-stop, shop-til-you-drop adventure! The Tour de Boutique is a self-guided tour of TEN local boutiques. These boutiques roll out the red carpet! From exclusive discounts to mimosas and cupcakes…. they really know how to make a girl feel special. Shop at your own pace and earn chances to win door prize(s) at every stop you make!
We all know the value and importance of shopping local. It helps stimulate the local economy, creates jobs, and brings tremendous value to our community. It’s a one-of-a-kind event that you won’t want to miss!
What is the distance to/from Winston-Salem and Lake Norman?
It is an easy 50-mile drive on I-77 to I-40. It’s an easy day trip for mother/daughter, friends, relatives, church group, etc. You will enjoy great fellowship or team building and, of course, fabulous shopping! It is well worth the short trip!
Is transportation provided?
Tour de boutique is a self-guided tour, so you can shop at your own pace.
Will there be route options?
Yes! We will provide shoppers with several route options depending on which side of town they would like to start.
Do you have to visit the stores in a certain order?
No! You are welcome to go rogue and create your own route. Our routes are purely suggestions to give you some added efficiency.
How much does it cost?
$40!
What does the cost include?
Your $40 registration fee includes the ‘shop local’ crew-neck sweatshirt, you see pictured, inside a swag bag with some other goodies, access to exclusive specials and discounts at all participating boutiques, door prize tickets (50+ door prizes are given away!!), and a day full of fun and quality time with your girlfriends!
When will you release a list of participating stores?
Stay tuned to social media — @forsythmags and @lknmagazine on Instagram and Facebook. We have TEN participating stores this year!
Can you purchase apparel if you don’t go on the tour?
Nope! This apparel is exclusively available for our Tour de Boutique shoppers.
What time does it start?
It starts as early as you would like! We will be sure to communicate open and closing times of each boutique with participants. Many stores will open early and stay open late, just for us. 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. is the typical time frame, but, since it’s self-guided, you can shop at your own pace. You may spend 20 minutes in one store and an hour in another.
Are you required to visit all the stores?
No, it is not required, but the more stores you visit, the more chances you will have to win door prizes!! You can enter a drawing at every store that you visit, and we have a special GRAND PRIZE that you can only be entered into when you visit all 10 stores.
Do people usually sign up with friends or individually?
BOTH! We have seen three generations sign up together (mother, daughter, granddaughter), we’ve seen groups of friends, co-workers, sisters, cousins, AND, absolutely, people can sign up individually. We know some people prefer shopping alone, and that is totally fine! We can assure you the stores will make you feel welcome all day long!
Will there be a Tour de Boutique in Lake Norman?
