Stop by Grace Nutrition in Mooresville, and you’ll likely see owner Amanda Rock’s young daughter enjoying a healthy shake of her own. She’s been the adorable mascot of her mom’s dream business since it opened in June 2020.
It all began following Amanda’s own health journey to lose over 60 pounds, which inspired her to launch her health and wellness coaching business 10 years ago.
“I wanted to help others feel their best and offer them guidance on how to do it,” shares Amanda, whose social work background blends well with a love for helping people.
“I found that weight loss and being healthy is a mental struggle for many people. My background gave me an edge to be able to support them on their healthy journey.”
Amanda opened Grace Nutrition with a goal of providing a positive space for people to come enjoy a quick, healthy option for breakfast, lunch, or after a workout.
“I want them to have positive conversations with exceptional customer service — and smiles!” says Amanda. “Building a business to help people, and have my kids be part of that, has meant everything to me. Our hours allow me time to take my older daughter to school and pick her up in the afternoon. She’s the reason I started my business in the first place — to spend more time with her.
Amanda grew up in a small town in Vermont, and when she and her oldest daughter moved to Mooresville, she wanted a way to connect to people in her new community. Now, she has two girls plus two step-daughters — all volleyball players in Mooresville who fuel their active lifestyles with Grace Nutrition!
“I wanted to be able to show my girls, and other women, that you can be a present mom, and also be successful in the business world, if that’s what you want!”
The philosophy of Grace Nutrition is simple: Every person must find what works best for their body. Instead of cutting out certain food groups entirely, Amanda teaches that fueling our bodies with what makes us feel good and energizes us, is the key.
“My goal for myself and my customers is life-long wellness,” she adds. “Carbs, fats, protein — it’s all an important part of your daily diet. I also believe it’s important to have someone in your corner helping and guiding you — and that’s what we offer at Grace!”
Grace Nutrition is also big on flavor! Brownie Batter and Peanut Butter Oreo have been my favorite protein shakes since the shop opened, with Pineapple Mango and Orange Creamsicl2e taking center stage during the warmer summer months.
“Right now we have our fall menu in full swing, offering Pumpkin Cheesecake, Apple Pie, Caramel Apple, and Banana Nut Bread,” says Amanda. “We will have more specials coming out for the holiday season including our popular Jack Frost Mega Tea and Olaf shake!”
You’ll also be tempted by their energy teas — where Mermaid Water (a pineapple, blue blast flavor) and Captain America (a tart mix, with blue blast, rainbow candy, and pomegranate) are top choices! And, with the fall weather, the Autumn Lemonade, Cran-Margarita, and Peach Pear Sangria are popular. At Grace you’ll also find meal replacement protein shakes with 21 essential vitamins and minerals, plus a minimum 24 grams of protein, as well as post-workout shakes and a variety of vitality shots.
As a mom, Amanda also loves offering kids’ protein shakes!
“They think they’re drinking a milkshake, but they are getting 21 essential vitamins and minerals, and 18 grams of plant-powered protein.”
Besides a delicious shake or favorite tea, customers visit Grace Nutrition for wellness coaching, weight loss inspiration, and the chance to make a new friend or two.
“It’s our priority to make sure everyone feels welcome!” adds Amanda. “We want to greet everyone as they walk in the door, and hear about their day. We’ve gotten to know a lot of customers very well, we know their orders, and all about their families. I think that’s something special about Grace!”
If you’re dashing in for a quick lunch (try online ordering through their app!), bringing your kids by for healthy hydration before a big game, seeking a vitality shot to boost your immune system, or just an extra dash of energy for the afternoon, you’ll leave on an upbeat note to finish the day!
