KATE SHAW

Currently residing in Charlotte, NC, with her husband, Nate, and two rescue dogs, Kona and Sullie, Kate is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design. She is a fan of clean, impactful design, big ideas, high heels, and taking the road less traveled. Kate first dreamed of being a professional ballerina as a child. After turning that dream into a reality and dancing professionally throughout the country, Kate took her artistic passion down a different path, beginning her career at an advertising agency as an Art Director and working her way up to Associate Creative Director. Now, as a freelance Graphic Designer and Art Director, she enjoys working with local clients and bringing their dreams into reality—like LKN Magazine! Kate enjoys running, traveling, attending live theater, trying local restaurants, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers!

ROBIN SHUPE 

Robin currently resides in North Wilkesboro with her dog Jude but is a frequent visitor to the Lake Norman area. With a Master’s in Higher Education degree, she worked for many years at the local community college teaching and mentoring students. Robin joined the LKN Magazine this year and enjoys working with their amazing team. In addition to being Editorial Director, she will be writing occasional articles and uploading the magazines online. Be sure to follow her travel column in LKN Magazine that is currently focusing on all the diversity and beauty of the NC State Parks. Her zest for life comes from her amazingly talented and artistic child, Quinn, who inspires her every day. Robin enjoys traveling, listening to music, sitting by the fire with friends and family, and inspiring others to live their best life.
