Located in the heart of Downtown Lincolnton, Estate Jewelers has been a trusted part of the community for almost six decades, helping residents celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.
The story behind Estate Jewelers began with Carol Self and her late husband, David Self, through their original business, Old South Antiques. What started with antique furniture and glass changed when a small tray of rings inspired something more. As Carol and David began traveling to antique shows across the Carolinas, their interest in jewelry grew, along with the relationships they built along the way.

That passion eventually led the Self’s to open their store on Main Street in Lincolnton, where they continued to grow the business together. This May, as the store celebrates 58 years, that history still shows in every detail, from the carefully selected pieces to the familiar faces behind the counter.
For Carol, the 58-year milestone is both meaningful and personal. After losing her husband ten years ago, she continued the business they built together, supported by a dedicated team that feels more like family. Larry, Chuck, and Ramona, longtime employees and friends, help carry on the same level of care and consistency that customers have come to trust.
Estate Jewelers offers an assortment of antique and estate jewelry, a large selection of engagement rings, and custom pieces that feel personal and one-of-a-kind. Many items are over 100 years old, giving customers the chance to find something truly unique, whether they are searching for a meaningful gift or a piece with history.

But what stands out most is not just the jewelry, but the lasting relationships built over generations. Families frequently return for engagements, anniversaries, and milestones, sharing stories of how Estate Jewelers has been part of their lives for decades.
That sense of connection often begins with something simple, a conversation at an antique show or a first visit that turns into many more over the years. In one case, a customer held onto Carol’s business card for almost a decade before finally visiting the store, a small moment that reflects the lasting impression she leaves on the people she meets. Customers return knowing they will be taken care of, and Carol believes in treating people the way she would want to be treated. That mindset continues to create a welcoming environment where customers feel comfortable and valued.
In addition to its selection, the store offers jewelry repair, restoration, and custom design services. Customers often bring in heirloom pieces to be updated or reimagined, allowing them to carry those memories into a new chapter while still honoring the past.

Even after all these years, Carol’s passion for jewelry remains strong. Her love for unique, character-filled pieces and her dedication to building relationships reflect her ongoing commitment to both quality and community.
Estate Jewelers is about more than jewelry. It is about the people behind it, the stories connected to each piece, and the moments that bring customers through the door. Whether visiting for the first time or returning after many years, the goal is to create a space where people feel welcome, valued, and confident in what they take home.
As the store marks 58 years in Lincolnton, the relationships and trust it has built continue to define what makes Estate Jewelers such a lasting part of the community.
