Navigating Wellness Together: NAMI Lake Norman/Iredell’s Mental Health Month Initiatives

As Mental Health Month approaches in May, we are excited to share the impactful initiatives organized by NAMI Lake Norman/Iredell. Whether you or someone you know is dealing with a mental health diagnosis, our local NAMI affiliate is here to offer free signature programs that provide education, support and advocacy across the Mooresville, Lake Norman, Huntersville, Cornelius and Statesville areas.

Connection Support Group:

A peer-led support group for individuals affected by a mental health disorder.

Provides a safe, confidential space for open and non-judgmental discussions about illness, wellness, treatment and recovery.

Every 3rd Monday at Huntersville UMC, 14005 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC.

Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

Family Support Group:

A peer-led support group for caregivers or loved ones of individuals with a mental health disorder.

Offers a safe, confidential environment for compassionate discussions about diagnosis, treatment, shared resources and establishing healthy boundaries and self-care.

Every 3rd Monday at Huntersville UMC, 14005 Stumptown Road, Huntersville, NC.

Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

Also, the 1st Wednesday every month (except July) at Downtown Public Library, 304 S Main Street, Mooresville, NC.

Educational Opportunities:

Request a speaker to present on various topics, including diagnoses, symptoms, treatments, overcoming stigmas, suicide prevention, setting healthy boundaries, wellness and recovery, and self-care.
