Publisher’s Perspective – February 2025 Edition

photos by:  JODIE BRIM CREATIVE

Although February is the shortest month of the year, we’re overflowing with amazing content in this issue! One of my all-time favorite celebrities, Richard Petty, graces our Track Talk column on page 72. Growing up, I spent many weekends at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, and I even had my picture taken with The King—I just wish I could find that photo!

I’m beyond excited to feature my new friend Shannon on the cover, showcasing the coolest new boutique in Huntersville—MyMar Boutique and Bead Bar. We had such a blast shooting the cover, and I can’t wait to attend her Sip & Shop on February 12th (details in our Calendar of Events section). You’re all invited, so come join us for a fun time! Be sure to check out the full cover story on page 28.

If you’ve been dreaming of a mountain home, look no further than Susan Dolan’s stunning property in Banner Elk, NC—all the details are on page 26. Oh, and she also has some beautiful lakefront property!

We’re also thrilled to kick off a new series highlighting Western North Carolina artists. Our first feature is on Melinda Lawton Jewelry, and you can read all about her on page 40.

Exciting news for April: our 3rd Annual Boutique Crawl is on April 26th—mark your calendars and find all the details on page 34! This year, we’re proud to partner with NeoGenix Stem Cell & Regenerative Therapies as a presenting co-sponsor (featured on our January cover), if you missed NeoGenix’s story, catch up at lkn-magazine.com. Other sponsors to be announced in our March issues.

A very special Happy Valentine’s Day to my sweetie—this marks our 44th Valentine’s Day together! Thank you for always being by my side.

Also, a Happy 35th Birthday to my baby girl and amazing business partner. Your love, support, and talent make everything we do together possible.

Finally, a Happy Birthday to our son Tanner… check out a few of our favorite pictures of him on page 82.

Thank you all for reading, and as always, please remember to let our advertising partners know where you saw them. Without our amazing readers and advertising partners, this magazine wouldn’t be possible.

With so much gratitude,
Keela
