One of the greatest joys of my life is being a mom. The love I have for my kids is deep, pure, and beyond anything I ever imagined. I’ve often heard that becoming a grandparent takes that love to an entirely new level—and while I hope to experience that one day, there’s no pressure from this mama!
This season, I’m especially thankful for my own mom. Having her nearby is something I never expected, and it’s truly one of the sweetest gifts life has given me. I’m a lucky girl.
We had such a great time at this month’s cover shoot featuring Home2Court. I’ve long admired their beautifully curated home décor—and when you add in their fun entertainment pieces like Mahjong, Pickleball, and more—it becomes a true treasure trove. You’ll love their story on page 28!
May is always a full month, and this year is no exception. We’ve already attended several incredible fundraisers, with more still to come. Supporting local nonprofits is something that’s very close to my heart. Thanks to our amazing advertising partners, we’re able to do so much—from collecting donations to spotlighting inspiring organizations in every issue.
If there’s a nonprofit you love that hasn’t been featured yet, I’d love to hear about it! While we do have a waiting list, we try to align features with upcoming events or specific needs whenever possible.
This month, we’re proud to shine a light on Cornelius Early Scholars (page 40). I hope you’ll take a moment to read their story—and maybe consider a small donation. I always say: when many people do just a little, it can create a big impact.
Speaking of nonprofits… we have some VERY exciting news to share! LKN Magazine is teaming up with some incredible folks to host a fundraiser supporting North Carolina’s professional firefighters and paramedics. We can’t wait to tell you more! Be sure to follow along online and on social media @lknmagazine, and stay tuned for our June cover story—it’ll be all about this amazing event.
As always, thank you for reading and for being part of our Lake Norman family. We love this community and feel so honored to live, work, and serve here.
With gratitude,
Keela
