Welcome to our Spring Home Issue! This time of year marks the beginning of countless projects that seem to stretch endlessly into the summer. While I won’t complain about the heat (okay, maybe just a little), I’m undeniably a spring and fall enthusiast. In this April issue, we’ve filled the pages with home-related features to inspire and guide you through the season.

Our Spring Boutique Crawl in Lake Norman presents the perfect opportunity to explore and find your summer favorites. And don’t forget to mark your calendars for October when we collaborate with Forsyth Woman Magazine for the Fall Boutique Crawl, formerly known as our Tour de Boutique.

While the anticipation for this year’s event is bubbling with excitement, it’s also a bittersweet time for me. This event holds a special place in my heart as it marks the last time I spent with my dear friend and neighbor, Connie Cherry, pictured below on the right with her sister. Days after our inaugural tour, Connie, very unexpectedly passed away. She was not only a wonderful friend but also an avid supporter of our magazines. I fondly remember our walks, sometimes covering up to 10 miles in a single day. I miss her tremendously!

Hello! My name is Keela Johnson and I’m the founder of Forsyth Magazines, a family of three publications based in Forsyth County that started in 2005. After living in Clemmons for 30 years, I “retired” to Lake Norman and found a vibrant, active community of friendly people, as well as new hobbies like paddle boarding and gardening. However, with publishing in my blood, my heart and mind recognized a wonderful opportunity to further engage with this dynamic community and the members of my Lake Norman “neighborhood.” So… I am thrilled to announce that our team is launching a fourth publication: LKN Magazine!

An opportunity to promote local! When my husband and I made the move to Lake Norman, I passed the torch for the Forsyth County-based magazines into the very capable hands of my daughter Brooke. I’ve been considering the right time to launch a Lake Norman-based magazine, and I firmly believe that time is now! With 19 years of publishing experience, our team has helped hundreds of businesses share their stories and connect with our 70,000 readers. We believe in the power of community and building a platform for local businesses to grow in an organic and powerful way. We’re so excited to bring this same concept to the Lake Norman market.
