Big on style, but overflowing with small town charm, The Twisted Tulip Boutique in Denver, NC is a labor of love for mother/daughter duo Cindy Rubick and Danielle Barnett.
The two first opened the brick-and-mortar version of The Twisted Tulip Boutique in October of 2019. It was an obvious business direction for both, as Cindy has always, always loved fashion, and Danielle had plenty of boutique experience to bring to the new venture. What began quietly as an online store in March of 2019, with the two showcasing their inventory via their own videos, is now a thriving small business – always with a keen eye on trends they know customers will love.
“Our business was a simple idea,” shares Danielle. “We wanted to create a place where quality, authenticity and community come together. What began as a small vision turned into a shared dream – offering products we truly believe in and a shopping experience that feels personal, not transactional.”
Cindy and Danielle say their goal from the very beginning wasn’t just to sell merchandise – it was to build something meaningful that would bring value to their loyal customers every single day.
“Our goals have always centered on three things – delivering top-quality products, providing exceptional customer service and building lasting relationships with the people who support us,” Danielle adds. “We believe every customer interaction is a chance to make someone’s day a little better, and that’s what drives us forward. What makes our store special is the heart behind it.”
Both Cindy and Danielle are one hundred percent hands on in everything they do around the boutique – from curating their incredible selection to remembering all those friendly, familiar faces who come through the doors.
“We take pride in offering unique items you won’t find everywhere else, sourced with care and chosen for their quality and story,” shares Cindy. “Every detail matters to us because every customer matters to us!”
Once Danielle was married, Cindy knew she wanted to spend more time with her as a daughter – and that’s a relationship they have happily achieved by owning the business together.
“We have so much fun going to Market together – as mom and daughter,” Cindy shares. “What I like, she doesn’t, and what she likes, I usually don’t! But, we blend it all together and we make it work!”
The boutique is filled with clothing, jewelry, shoes and other fun accessories – and if you’re shopping online, shipping is always free in the United States.
