Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be reserved for only the people in relationships, am I right? It’s for everyone, so ladies, if you are wanting to celebrate with your favorite gals, keep reading for ideas on how to throw the ultimate Galentine’s Day party!
The first thing you need to decide is where you’re hosting. Are you renting a room out at a restaurant, outdoor space or are you hosting in your home? Wherever you choose, you’ll want to add some glam to your space! This can be done pretty easily and inexpensively. Snag the $1, $3 or $5 festive decor items at the Bullseye Playground in Target, and then head over to the Dollar Tree for any festive disposable items you’ll need such as plates, napkins and cups. Also, anytime you can light some candles and add fresh flowers to your tablescape, it’s immediately next level.
What’s a party without food? I suggest hosting a brunch or an appetizer and dessert party. If you do brunch, keep it simple with heartshaped pancakes and waffles, a mimosa bar, lattes and a fruit tray. If the party is in the evening, prepare some charcuterie boards, chocolate fondue and a candy bar. Pinterest is your best friend for finding ways to dress up the food items to fit the Galentine’s Day theme!
I’m creating the music playlist ahead of time with some love-inspired classics to set the vibe. I’m going for girly, flirty, whimsical and fun! Some of my favorites, you ask? “Lover” by Taylor Swift, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” by Shania Twain, “Love on Top” by Beyonce, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper and “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer. You could even make your spotify playlist shareable to allow your guests to add their favorites, as well!
What’s everyone wearing? Whether it’s a pajama party, an athleisure vibe or a bit fancier, I’d encourage your gal pals to dress in festive colors like reds, pinks and white. This will make for super cute photos, of course, and it just adds to the fun! Speaking of photos…if it’s in your budget to rent a photo booth, then go all out! If not, create your own photo area with some decor and fun props. Set up the tripod and camera to get photos of everyone before the party ends.
We’ve covered location, decor, food, music and dress code, but what about activities? This all depends on your budget. If you have room in your budget, maybe you invite someone who does permanent jewelry, a gift that keeps on giving. Not your thing or what you’re going for? No problem! Other ideas include watching a classic romcom, making Galentine’s cards for one another, DIY flower bouquets, playing board games, spa night treatments or maybe you get a little wild and pull out that karaoke machine!
There are so many different directions you can go, but hopefully, this article helps spark that creativity in you to get started on planning your own ultimate Galentine’s Day party. Now, grab your besties and get to planning! Anytime the girls can get together, it’s bound to be a good time. Happy planning!
