The Publisher’s Perspective

April is the first full month of spring, and I am so excited and ready for my favorite season of the year. I look forward to getting outside more, whether it is to plant flowers with my sweet mama, who officially turned me into a gardener last summer, or to enjoy the beauty of nature as I take my daily walk.

April is also when we publish our biannual “Home Section” in LKN Magazine, and we are proud of our first spring issue with 18 pages covering home topics from easy and inexpensive tips for home improvement to having the lawn that will be the envy of the neighborhood with GrassRoots Turf of Lake Norman.

Speaking of GrassRoots Turf, it is our cover story (page 29) for this month and a local company that I can speak for personally. David Tilley and his team first started making our yard look amazing in the summer of 2022. When we started LKN Magazine he was one of the FIRST to advertise, and we are both thrilled with the response that it has generated. He believed in our publication from the beginning and has been a loyal advertiser since the first issue.

Hello! My name is Keela Johnson and I’m the founder of Forsyth Magazines, a family of three publications based in Forsyth County that started in 2005. After living in Clemmons for 30 years, I “retired” to Lake Norman and found a vibrant, active community of friendly people, as well as new hobbies like paddle boarding and gardening.
