Originally from Texas, savvy entrepreneurs Amanda and Joseph Coyle have responded to a vital need in the Charlotte area, and one that hit very close to home.
Having owned the local North Charlotte Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency for the last 18 months, the two are passionate about quality, hassle-free childcare, and are making that a reality for parents in North Charlotte and the surrounding areas, including Huntersville, Davidson, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Cornelius, Mooresville, Denver, and Concord.
“We are parents first,” says Amanda. “Joseph and I understand how challenging it can be to find someone you trust to watch and care for your most prized possession! Being able to relieve that pressure and provide a service families can trust and depend on is our top priority.”
Their heartfelt enthusiasm for the business began with their own search for a nanny.
“When COVID hit, we suddenly became parents working full-time with an eight-year-old student at home,” Amanda explains. “We tried recruiting a nanny on our own through various apps, social media, and sites, such as Care.com. We quickly realized it was difficult, stressful and time-consuming.”
While Joseph handles the day-to-day operations of Twinkle Toes, Amanda manages marketing and events. They also have a full-time Assistant Branch Manager, Alyvia. The ultimate busy mom who knows the scenario well, Amanda is also a Sr. Project Manager for the Lowe’s corporate office, mom to their now 11-year-old daughter (and Den Leader of her Cub Scout pack!), and she and Joseph (who totally loves being a girl dad!) also “parent” three rescue dogs!
Amanda and Joseph are passionate about both sides of the business — and also love being a support system for the nannies they hire. Potential nanny candidates go through an interview plus reference checks and an extensive background and driving record check.
“We require all nannies to be CPR certified, and we fully vet all candidates to relieve the families of that task,” says Amanda. “After we screen nannies and are ready to place them with a family, we share profiles of families with nannies. We want to ensure the schedule and job requirements work for both parties. Once the nanny selects families he/she is interested in, we share their profile with the families, who make the decision on which nannies they want to select for interviews.”
Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency handles childcare for all schedules, providing part-time, full-time, long-term, temporary, just for date nights, overnights, and even childcare for special occasions, such as holiday parties or weddings, where they prefer to keep a 4:1 ratio.
“Many of our clients do not have the typical 8:00-5:00 career,” Amanda adds. “For example, we have medical professionals who work three twelves and/or overnight shifts.”
With a typical lead time of four to six weeks to recruit the “perfect” nanny, the agency does their best to also fill urgent needs as well, sometimes offering a temporary placement while recruiting a longer-term nanny.
